Career Development Specialist

The Hampton Roads Workforce Council (HRWC), a regional workforce development organization, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Career Development Specialist.  This position is responsible for providing comprehensive case management services to individuals eligible to receive maritime related training and employment services through the Regional Workforce Training System (RWTS).  This individual will also provide personal, academic, and employment counseling and assistance, and refer customers to other community providers when appropriate.

Career Advisor (Virginia Career Works - Norfolk)

The Hampton Roads Workforce Council (HRWC), a regional workforce development organization, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Career Advisor for our office located in Norfolk.

This position serves as first point of contact for individuals seeking employment and training assistance as well as other workforce development services from the American Job Center, locally known as “Virginia Career Works – Hampton Roads Region”. Provide requested information and assistance in use of various education, training, and career resources while applying appropriate policies, procedures, and excellent customer service practices.  To open, manage, clean, and close facility for normal business hours and to serve partners, clients, and businesses equally as needed and requested. This position delivers program and other support to the Council staff to ensure efficient operation of the office.  Reports to the Administrative Services Coordinator.  The annual starting salary range for this position is $ 29,250 to $32,438 with excellent benefits, including the Virginia Retirement System and paid health insurance for the employee.
