Career Advisor (Norfolk)

The Hampton Roads Workforce Council, a regional workforce development organization, is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Career Advisor for our office located in Norfolk. This position serves as first point of contact for individuals seeking employment and training assistance as well as other workforce development services from the American Job Center, locally known as “Virginia Career Works – Hampton Roads Region”. Provide requested information and assistance in use of various education, training, and career resources while applying appropriate policies, procedures, and excellent customer service practices.  To open, manage, clean, and close facility for normal business hours and to serve partners, clients, and businesses equally as needed and requested. This position delivers program and other support to the Council staff to ensure efficient operation of the office.  Reports to the Administrative Services Coordinator.

The annual starting salary range for this position is $ 29,250 to $ 32,438 with excellent benefits, including the Virginia Retirement System and paid health insurance for the employee. The full job description is posted HERE.

Senior Director, Hampton Roads Workforce Training System

The Hampton Roads Workforce Council (HRWC), a regional workforce development organization, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Senior Director of the Hampton Roads Workforce Training System for our organization.  This position is responsible for leading the establishment of the System under the Good Jobs Challenge Grant and will serve as a point of communication for the Workforce Council and external stakeholders.  Will also manage project related documents and goals, evaluate potential issues, and monitor the quality of project outputs. FINANCIAL OPPORTUNITY CENTER (FOC) FINANCIAL COACH - VIRGINIA CAREER WORKS (VCW) – NORFOLK, VA

The Hampton Roads Workforce Council (HRWC), a regional workforce development organization serving Southside Hampton Roads and the Virginia Peninsula, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Financial Coach under our FOC Initiative. This position will be housed in the HRWC VCW Center in Norfolk, VA and will provide and/or facilitate direct financial education services for low to moderate income individuals who are also engaged in occupational skills training services. This is a full-time, Grant funded position.

Director of Finance

The Hampton Roads Workforce Council (HRWC), a regional workforce development organization, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Finance for our organization.  This position performs intermediate professional work in preparation and maintenance of financial records.  Responsible for calculations, postings, analysis, and verification duties in the preparation of complex financial and statistical data for the development of program budgets, and reports and maintenance of accounting records. The annual starting salary range for this position is $57,750  to $65,888 based on experience, with excellent benefits, including the Virginia Retirement System and paid health insurance for the employee. Campus757 Campus Relations Intern

The Hampton Roads Workforce Council (HRWC), a regional workforce development organization, is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Campus757 Campus Relations Intern.  This paid internship is scheduled to run from mid-September 2022 through December 2022, with the possibility of extension through May 2023.  This is a great opportunity for a college student who can create and maintain lasting relationships with our college/university partners and students.  This intern will help us make students fall in love with our region’s community, culture, and careers, through on-campus events and programming.  The role is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced program, while building a professional network. The starting wage for this position is $15.00 per hour, with access to soft skills and leadership strength-based assessment and training, a letter of recommendation after successful completion of the internship, a hybrid work environment, and flexible hours.
